Veterinary Neurosurgery Advanced Course

25th – 26th July 2014

Target

Residents (ECVN, ACVIM–neurology, ECVS), academic staff involved in veterinary neurosurgery, veterinary surgeons with specific interest in veterinary neurosurgery.

Program overview

This course will provide participants with theoretical and hands-on training on the most commonly used neurosurgical techniques. Topics covered will be cervical, thoracolumbar and lumbosacral decompressive spinal surgeries and surgical approaches to the cranial cavity. The course includes six wet-lab sessions on cervical surgery, Lumbosacral surgery, frontal, rostrotentorial and caudal fossa surgical approaches to the cranial cavity.

 

Class size is limited to 26 people. ECVN/ACVIM residents will have priority only for early bird registration.

 

The venue of the course is Cremona.

 


Veterinary Neuroscience & Advanced Clinical Neurology/Neurosurgery Course

28th July - 8th August 2014

Target

Residents (ECVN, ACVIM–neurology), academic staff involved in veterinary neurology, veterinary surgeons with specific interest in veterinary neurology.

Program overview

This course will provide participants with advanced teaching in neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, electrodiagnostics, neuropathology, small animal clinical neurology, large animal neurology, neurosurgery, and neuroradiology. The course is intended to provide a foundation in these areas for those interested in both clinical and research applications of the course material. Lecture sessions will be both interactive and didactic.

 

The venue of the course is Bologna.

 


Veterinary Magnetic Resonance Imaging Advanced Course

9th – 10th August 2014

Target

Residents (ECVDI, ACVR, ECVN, ACVIM–neurology), academic staff involved in veterinary diagnostic imaging, veterinary surgeons with specific interest in veterinary diagnostic Imaging.

Program overview

This course will provide participants comprehensive teaching on magnetic resonance imaging of nervous system in veterinary patients. Topics covered will include MR physics, the basis of forming an MR image, instrumentation, MR safety, MRI features of various intracranial and spinal disorders, and functional MRI. It is recommended that MR physics be reviewed before the course if possible.

 

The venue of the course is Bologna.

 

27th Annual Symposium of the ESVN-ECVN

18th to 20th of September 2014.

The topic will be Feline Neurology.
